Pavlovsk Palace

Today the palace is open as a museum. Its interiors preserve the atmosphere of the imperial era: ceremonial halls, collections of paintings, sculptures, and decorative and applied arts of the 18th–19th centuries, as well as the private chambers of the imperial family.
Park Pavilions and Architecture
During a walk through the park, you will see famous architectural pavilions: the Temple of Friendship, the Pavilion of the Three Graces, the Colonnade of Apollo, the Pill Tower, and the Bridge of Centaurs. Each structure is organically integrated into the natural landscape and creates picturesque views reminiscent of romantic European gardens of the 18th century.

Pavlovsk Park was created as an "English landscape park" — a new style of garden art for Russia in the 18th century. Its foundation was the natural valley of the Slavyanka River. Thanks to this, the landscape looks not artificial, but as if created by nature itself.
Russian historian and writer Nikolai Karamzin, having visited Pavlovsk at the end of the 18th century, wrote about it: "Here nature and art are so harmonious with each other that it is difficult to notice the boundary between them."
