Oranienbaum and the Grand Menshikov Palace
Nothing here yet, check back a little later.
Oranienbaum is located in the town of Lomonosov and is among the historical residences associated with the era of Peter I and his inner circle. The first buildings of the ensemble appeared in the early 18th century and were associated with the name of Alexander Menshikov.
The central object of the complex is considered to be the Grand Menshikov Palace – one of the oldest palace buildings in the region. Later, the ensemble was supplemented with the Chinese Palace and other structures reflecting the development of 18th-century architectural styles.
Oranienbaum Park combines regular alleys, pavilions, and the natural landscape. The ensemble has preserved its historical layout and remains an important part of St. Petersburg's suburban heritage.
