The Grand Peterhof Palace is the main palace of the imperial residence and one of the most famous architectural monuments in Russia. It is here that excursions to the Peterhof Palace are most often chosen to see the luxury of the imperial era.
The building is located on a natural terrace about 16 meters high and stretches for almost 300 meters. From here, the famous view of the Grand Cascade and the Sea Canal opens up.
The first palace was built under Peter the Great in the early 18th century. Later, architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli created the modern appearance of the palace in the Russian Baroque style.
