Weather in St. Petersburg in July 2026
In July 2026 in St. Petersburg, expect the warmest weather of the year: daytime temperatures usually stay around +19…+23 °C, and on hot days they can rise above +25 °C. But St. Petersburg summers are changeable, so even in July the sun can easily give way to clouds, wind, and brief rain. For your trip, it's best to bring light clothing for daytime walks, a hat, sunglasses, and a bottle of water, especially if you plan to walk around the center or parks for a long time.
For evenings, boat trips, and outings to the Gulf of Finland, a hoodie, windbreaker, or light jacket will come in handy: it's cooler by the water after sunset. An umbrella or a compact raincoat is also best kept in your bag, because summer rain in St. Petersburg can start suddenly. Choose comfortable shoes you can walk in all day.
Trips to St. Petersburg's suburbs
July is the perfect month for a short vacation: you can unwind after weeks of work, change your surroundings, and gain new impressions without traveling far from St. Petersburg. Just about an hour by commuter train or bus – and you're already in Peterhof, Oranienbaum, or another suburb, where instead of city noise you'll find parks, palaces, fountains, the shade of old trees, and fresh air by the water. Here you can finally slow down, buy an ice cream or a cold lemonade, have a small picnic, lie on the grass, soak up the sun, and simply feel that the day finally belongs to you.
If you don't want to plan the route yourself, check transport schedules, and decide what to fit into one day, it's easier to choose a tour to the suburbs from Leningrad-Tour. It saves what matters most – your time and energy. No need to check schedules, look for tickets, and think about what to see first: the route is already put together so that in one day you'll see the most beautiful palaces, parks, and landmarks, while a guide brings their history to life with engaging stories, details, and facts that are easy to miss on a self-guided trip.

We recommend that after the exhibition you buy something as a keepsake in the souvenir shop, for example, a silk scarf with a reproduction of a painting featuring the ballerina Anna Pavlovna, or a tin box filled with monpensier candies featuring Princess Zinaida Yusupova.

Tours around St. Petersburg
Tours around St. Petersburg are one of the best ways to enjoy the city, its architecture, history and summer scenery!
If you don't feel like walking in the heat during the day, a great option is a night boat trip to the drawbridges: the sun has already set, cool air blows from the Neva, seagulls cry, the city lights reflect in the water, and then the bridges slowly rise to music, and everyone on board freezes for a couple of minutes.
For a first introduction to the city, a sightseeing touris a good fit: in a few hours you can see the city's main landmarks and understand how St. Petersburg works. In summer, the palace facades are buried in greenery, the canals sparkle in the sun, and the city looks more alive and lighter than in the cold season.
If you want to get outside the center, you should go to the suburbs: to Peterhof – for the fountains and views of the Gulf of Finland, to Oranienbaum – for quiet alleys and unusual sights, to Tsarskoye Selo – for parks, ponds and the Amber Room, or head to Kronstadt – ride across the dam by bus, and then see the forts from a boat and get to know the more maritime side of St. Petersburg.
